Tim Hendricks, CLU
Tim began his insurance career in 1978 when he joined the Equitable Life Assurance Society. In 1988, Tim established Hendricks and Associates believing employee benefit services was going to become an increasingly important segment of business planning. Nine years later, Hendricks and Associates became Business Planning Group (BPG). The name change validated Tim’s prediction that employers would need assistance with customized benefit planning. Following the name change, BPG’s operational structure was modified into a group practice to provide specialized insurance services to clients.
Tim is a licensed life and health insurance agent and broker. In 1988, Tim earned the coveted Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation. He received his Bachelor of Education degree from Northeastern State University in 1970, and his Master in Education degree in 1973.
Family and church are important parts of Tim’s life. He has been married to his wife Gloria for 39 years. They have two adult children, Blake and Kara, plus three much loved grandchildren, Ava, Joel and Jaclyn. Tim and Gloria have been active members in their local Methodist church since 1973. Tim has held numerous leadership positions through the years, including Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Finance and Staff/Parish Relations Committees. Recently, they joined Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church.
Tim is also very active within the community. He participates in the Broken Arrow Rotary and Chamber of Commerce, Tulsa Chamber’s legislative events, National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) and the National Association Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA).
When time allows, he enjoys attending NASCAR and Sprint Car races.
Gloria Hendricks
Gloria Hendricks has two degrees from Northeastern State University, a Bachelor of Science in Education, and a Masters in Education. In 1995, after a successful career in teaching, she transitioned to BPG and become the group’s Office Manager. She is responsible for managing the agency’s day-to-day operations, policy service, customer service, purchasing and bookkeeping and is a Notary Public.
She and her husband Tim have two grown children, Blake and Kara. They have been blessed with three wonderful grandchildren, Ava, Joel and Jaclyn. Gloria has enjoyed being involved with her church through the years and recently, she joined Abiding Harvest United Methodist Church. When she’s not working she enjoys reading, working-out, crossword puzzles, cooking and babysitting Ava.
Ray Nunneley, CLU
Ray Nunneley has provided insurance and financial services to his clients since 1979. In addition to his industry designations, he continues his training through industry courses, self study and continuing education.
Ray provides his service to individuals, school districts, banking institutions, businesses, attorneys, trust officers and investment advisors. Over the last several years Ray has seen long term care insurance become an important part of his clients’ financial planning process. The emotional and financial impact to families dealing with long term care needs is devastating and as a result, long term care insurance has become a major focus of Ray’s practice.
Ray has teamed with Long Term Care Resources, in order to provide the highest level of service and long term care insurance options for his clients. Long Term Care Resources is a national brokerage firm focusing solely on long term care insurance.
Janet M. Jordan
Janet Jordan graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. She’s spent the majority of her professional career in insurance. Her industry experience includes sales and Third Party Administration (TPA) of claims. She has her Agents License for life, accident and health insurance. Additionally, she’s received designation as a Life Office Management Association (LOMA) Associate.
Before joining BPG, Janet worked at the Oklahoma Insurance Department for fourteen years. When she left the Oklahoma Insurance Department eight years ago to move to Tulsa she was the Director of the Senior Health Insurance Counseling Program (SHICP), a federal grant program. Since arriving in Tulsa, Janet has worked in sales and support for BPG and Thomason, Tyler and Lynch’s Group Life and Health Division.
Janet’s husband Jack Jordan is an industry veteran too. He is Mid-Continent Casualty Company’s Tulsa Claim Branch Manager. Janet and Jack have two children, Andrea and Kelsey. Andrea is pre-vet/pre-med major at OU, and Kelsey is a student at Union Intermediate High School. Janet is active in many activities outside of the office, but the bulk of her free time is spent serving her church, Faith United Methodist Church.
Kara Duncan
After graduating from Northeastern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education, Kara worked full-time at Reading for Kids as a tutor for children with disabilities. Now, in addition to supporting BPG’s agents, Kara manages the innumerable scheduling and administrative functions needed to keep the office running smoothly.
Kara is married to James Duncan, and has two beautiful daughter's Ava and Jaclyn, who are the light of her life. Kara also has two dogs, Sebastian and Stella. Kara enjoys working-out, cooking and spending time with her family.
Mike Simmonds
Mike’s specialty is Qualified Retirement Plans. Since 1985, when Mike established August Pension Service, he’s been aligned with The Equitable Life Assurance of the United States. His group designed, marketed and administered Qualified and Non-Qualified Retirement plans. In the late 1980s and 1990s Mike became a top five producer for The Equitable in retirement plans. He was responsible for the attraction of nearly $100 million dollars in retirement plan assets. This accomplishment put him in a position to sit on the product development board for The Equitable. As a product development board member, Mike influenced the design and marketing of a retirement plan products that were eventually distributed nationwide.
In 1999, due to the need to diversify client options, Business Pension Group was established. This organization continued to specialize in qualified retirement planning but also continued to develop executive compensation programs and employee distribution and rollover programs. Business Pension Group L.L.C. is associated with Business Planning Group in an effort to bring clients complete expertise in all employee benefit programs.
Mike holds life, health and variable annuity licenses in Oklahoma. In addition, he holds Series 6 and 63 securities licenses. He has been involved with the American Society of Pension Actuaries and is a member of the Broken Arrow Chamber of Commerce.
Mike is married to Jill and has three sons, Zac, Drew and Kramer. He founded the Challenger League, a Broken Arrow-based organization that provides year-round activities for the disabled. Additionally, he is involved with Special Olympics and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He enjoys sports and fishing, but mainly spends his free time with his family.
Lynda Melone
Lynda Melone, President of Insurance Solutions, Inc. is the in-house wholesaler for life insurance products for BPG. Her career in the insurance industry spans a period of nearly three decades. She began her career as an administrative assistant at Northwestern Mutual Life. In 1984 she accepted an offer to join a local independent brokerage agency where she served for nearly twenty years as administrative assistant and later as office manager. Lynda was instrumental in the day-to-day operation of a general agency, which served over 100 brokers across northeastern Oklahoma.
In 2004 Lynda brought together her many years of experience and multiple talents in the insurance industry and created Insurance Solutions, Inc. Through Solutions she markets a wide array of life and annuity products through such highly rated companies as American General, American National, First Colony, John Hancock, MET Life, Prudential and Transamerica Occidental. She also offers additional products and services such as Short Term Medical, Overseas Medical, High Limit Accidental Death and Dismemberment and International Term Insurance.
Lynda has been married since 1999 to Jim Melone. Jim is an estate-planning attorney in Tulsa. She has two children, Natalie and Logan. Family vacations typically involve a cabin, a lake and fishing. In her spare time she enjoys the outdoors, cooking and exercising.
